There have been many enquiries regarding the T1198 form. The employer sent a memo regarding this form on March 20th 2025, with information on how to access it. Please know the Union does not complete or process the T1198. Any enquiries or questions you have should be directed to the employer, your accountant (if you have one) or the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Thanks!
The Coronation Medal was created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, which took place on May 6, 2023. It is the first Canadian commemorative medal to mark a coronation. The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is responsible for administering the King Charles III Coronation Medal Program in Canada. The medal will be awarded to 30,000 deserving individuals. The Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario (OLGO) is proud to be partnering in this program by helping nominate deserving recipients.
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
Tax season is here! Starting in late February, a digital T4A slip will be available for all eligible members to easily download on the OTIP plan member site.
If you cannot access your online plan member account, you will receive a physical T4A via mail by late February (see below).
Mailing exceptions
Members in the following scenarios will receive a mailed T4A by late February:
- Recently retired
- Terminated
- Deceased
- CUPE EWBT members with life insurance only
- On leave.
Update for T4A eligible Quebec residents
Your 2024 Taxable Benefit Amounts letter will be available online with your digital T4A. You will not receive a mailed copy this year. Please visit your OTIP plan member site at the end of February to access your 2024 T4A and Taxable Benefit Amounts letter.
Did you know? As the plan administrator of your benefits plan, OTIP automatically provides the CRA with your T4A tax slip to file your taxes. You or your personal accountant do not need to submit a copy of your T4A to the CRA or your income tax provider. A digital T4A will be available on your plan member account by late February for you to review or download.
