CUPE-EWBT Therapeutic Class Pricing (TCP) update!

Please click on the link regarding CUPE-EWBT changes regarding the implementation offor prescription drugs. TCP is a plan provision that reduces reimbursement for higher-cost medications in drug classes where lower-cost, equally safe, and effective options are available.

The implementation date has been set for November 30, 2025. This gives members time to consult with their pharmacists or physicians about possible changes and, where appropriate, pursue an exemption process.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation-from CUPE ON.

On September 30, CUPE Ontario and the Indigenous Council join with all CUPE members in solemn commemoration of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
This day is one we set aside to honour the survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities whose lives and cultures have been profoundly damaged by anti-Indigenous colonial policies.
For non-Indigenous members of CUPE Ontario, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time of reflection and remembrance, education and introspection.
September 30 is also often called Orange Shirt Day, and many of us will wear orange as an outward sign of our commitment to truth and justice for First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
Together, we can reaffirm our goal of repairing the legacy of harm done to Indigenous peoples.

They are administered by the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) and are applicable to PERMANENT employees of HCDSB – please know supply staff do not receive benefits.

Notice of EA 5200.00 VP Stepping Down & TBD Special Membership Meeting  for EA Unit

Dear Members of the EA 5200.00 Unit,
Leah Simon the Vice President of the EA Unit, has officially stepped down from her executive position from August 31st 2025.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank her for her dedication to the Local 5200 members during her appointment to this position.
As a result of this vacancy,  we are reaching out to the EA members to appoint a new VP. The position and its responsibilities are in the BY-LAWS, please take a look! If you would like to call the office for a chat and we can discuss your interest in taking on the role.. we will hold a Special UNIT Membership Meeting to appoint a new Vice President when we have members interested in the position.
